Policies and procedures

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic the Tree of Life Preschool Academy has adopted, for the foreseeable future, until further notice the following increased health and safety protocols to support the health and well-being of the children and families we serve and our staff:

  • We ask that anyone experiencing the following symptoms refrain from attending or visiting the school until symptom free for 72 hours: (dry cough, fever, sore throat, and/or respiratory distress) This does include children, family members, and staff.

  • All children, parents, and staff will be temperature scanned upon arrival to. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be asked to refrain from entering the facility.

  • All commonly touched surfaces will be wiped down with a hospital grade cleaner throughout the day to limit the spread of any germs.

  • We have adopted a 100.4 degree or higher send home temperature, until further notice. If a child has a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher they will be isolated from the group appropriately and will be sent home.

  • Children that are sent home due to fever and/or any of the above mentioned symptoms may not return to the school until symptom free for 72 hours without the aid of medication/fever reducers.

  • All deliveries are to be brought to the door and then brought into the facility by personnel to decrease the amount of people accessing the building.

  • We have elected not to combine classrooms/children during the peak hours of operation to continue to observe social distancing in classrooms to the best of our ability.

  • A new hand-sanitizing station has been placed at the entrance of the building and all children, parents, and staff are asked to use this before clocking/signing your child in/out to limit the spread of germs on commonly touched surfaces.

  • Children in Pre-K classrooms have been given individual art boxes with their own crayons, markers, child safe scissors, pencils, glue stick, etc. to cut down on the spread of germs.

These above mentioned new protocols/procedures are in addition to the high standards concerning health and safety we have always implemented. This is an addendum to our written policies in our parent handbook, and until further notice these items will be upheld as policy effective April 2020.
